BioÁstvinr grew up in the south of England. After finishing a Ph.D. on the works of Philip K. Dick, he worked in Europe exporting oil pipelines to Iran, and travelled to China, where he taught Business Studies and acted as a chauffeur to a sheikh. He lives in London.
My own interest in the esoteric is in the field of exploring altered consciousness through magick, shamanic techniques and the Chinese healing art of Qi Gong (or Ch’i Kung as you may also have seen it spelt). I practice meditation to expand my consciousness rather than use any external substance (I've yet to find one that does much for me). I have come to magick and shamanism only fairly recently following a number of unexpected encounters and initiations about seven years ago which opened my mind to possibilities I'd not previously taken any too seriously. Since then I have been anxiously making up for lost time and trying to learn as much as I can. Right now one of my key interests is in exploring methods of healing trauma and psychic shock through Qi Gong and dream work.
